Broadway Cityview Senior Living Spreads Warmth and Community Spirit This Holiday Season

At Broadway Cityview Senior Living a senior living community located in Ft. Worth, TX, giving back is more than a seasonal gesture—it’s part of who we are. Throughout November, our residents and community partners came together to collect 54 new and gently used coats for those in need. These coats will be donated to Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County, an organization that has been a beacon of hope since 1888.

Union Gospel Mission began as a simple outreach to individuals experiencing homelessness and has grown into a transformative ministry rooted in compassion and faith. Their mission reminds us that meeting our neighbors’ needs with unwavering love can lead to lasting change.

Why is this effort so important? Because the need in Tarrant County is real—and growing. According to the latest data, more than 2,600 people are experiencing homelessness in Tarrant and Parker counties, with the majority living in Fort Worth. Over half of these individuals are unsheltered, and 11% are children. Rising housing costs and limited resources have made it harder than ever for families and individuals to find stability. A warm coat can make a world of difference during the cold months.

However, the coat drive is just one example of how Broadway Cityview Senior Living fosters a culture of generosity and connection.

Employee Appreciation Fund: Giving Back to Those Who Care for Us

Our staff members work tirelessly to provide exceptional care and support, and while they cannot accept gratuities, our residents have found a meaningful way to express their gratitude. Through the Employee Appreciation Fund, managed by the Resident Council, donations are collected throughout the year. This year, residents living in independent living and assisted living raised over $100,000, which will be distributed among staff just in time for Christmas. This incredible gesture reflects the deep bond between residents and team members—a relationship built on trust, respect, and appreciation.

Resident Ambassador Program: Leadership and Purpose

Another cornerstone of our community spirit is the Resident Ambassador Program. Ambassadors play a vital role in welcoming new residents, building trust, and fostering a sense of belonging. For those who serve as ambassadors, the program offers a renewed sense of purpose, greater social interaction, and an opportunity to reignite leadership skills. By providing valuable feedback to staff and helping new residents feel at home, ambassadors strengthen the fabric of our community.

Why We Give

Philanthropy at Broadway Cityview Senior Living isn’t just about donations – it’s about creating a culture of giving back. Whether it’s raising funds for staff appreciation, mentoring new residents, or collecting coats for those in need, these efforts reflect our belief that community thrives when kindness leads the way.

This holiday season, we are proud to partner with Union Gospel Mission and grateful for the opportunity to make a difference. Together, with our residents, staff, and community partners we are spreading warmth, hope, and love, one coat and one act of kindness at a time.
